Welcoming Baby
When my husband and my house had a burst pipe, flooded, and the entire thing needed to be gutted and re-built, we hired Paulo as our general contractor to make our house whole again. He did a beautiful job, and along the way we just found him to be a wonderful person eager to make our home as beautiful as possible. His work ethic was especially impressive given that just as our project was slated to be completed, he was slated to become a father!
Paulo's wife Renata asked if I could take their maternity photos, and while I was there we also talked about the beautiful nursery she'd worked so hard on for the past couple of months. It was a bright cheerful room at the front of the house, and had initially been their living room: she'd worked with an interior designer (Heather at The RePurposed Home) to re-make the room into a space comfortable for both baby and multiple caretakers, with a crib, big comfy sitting chair and a trundle bed. Paulo refashioned an old desk to become a changing table, and later Renata framed and hung some of the maternity photos to decorate its walls. Baskets were carefully labeled with clothing sizes, and a sweet magenta orchid blossomed on the table.
After the nursery, a former dining room became the new living room, the kitchen got a breakfast nook, and suddenly the house was transformed — much like their own lives were about to be.
